I. Definition and Technical Positioning: A double plunger injection production oil well pump is an artificial lift device utilizing a dual-plunger positive displacement pump structure. It performs both water injection and oil recovery functions, balancing both flooding and extraction. Its double-acting plunger design enables efficient suction and discharge of liquid during both the upper and lower strokes, improving pumping efficiency and system stability. This structure, similar to a "double-acting double-plunger pump," is widely used in industrial and oilfield injection and production scenarios (Note: it does not simply suction and discharge, but rather the upper and lower plungers circulate separately).

On the oilfield floor, especially in shallow-to-medium formations, rod pumping has long been one of our engineering team's most commonly used, familiar, and reliable production methods. This isn't to say that other technologies are inferior—submersible electric pumps and progressive cavity pumps have their uses, but when it comes to cost-effectiveness, ease of maintenance, and versatility, rod pumping systems are the preferred choice. Why do we continue to use rod pumps? The reason is simple—not all wells are self-flowing, and not all wells warrant the expense of installing electric pumps. Especially when formation pressure is gradually decreasing, or when producing heavy oil, low-yield wells, or cyclic steam injection wells, we need a stable and easy-to-maintain mechanical recovery solution. In these situations, rod pumping is the preferred choice. Currently, there are two mainstream mechanical recovery methods: gas lift (mostly used in marginal water wells and light oil wells) and deep well pumping. Our rod pumping system is the most mature and widely applicable deep well pumping system. A complete sucker rod pump system consists of three main components: Surface unit (pump unit): Everyone is familiar with the "kowtow pump," the power source, consisting of a connecting rod and a reduction gearbox. Rod system: Connects the surface to the wellbore, transmitting power to the plunger. Downhole pump (sucker rod pump): The actual actuator, sucking up fluid and pumping it into the tubing.

I. Injection and Production Pump Overview: The injection and production pump is a simplified injection pump designed for steam flooding/huff-and-puff operations in high-temperature heavy oil wells. Its core feature is dual-use injection and production: simple and reliable conversion between injection and production. The injection and production pump utilizes a large-diameter, long-stroke pump barrel and plunger, effectively increasing fluid production. A dedicated disconnector for large pumps is used to disconnect the plunger from the sucker rod. The upper outlet valve and lower portion of the plunger are machined with sharp-angle scraping edges. In annular thermal recovery wells, the reciprocating motion of the plunger continuously removes scale and sand from the inner wall of the pump barrel, reducing and preventing sand blockage. The injection and production pump is suitable for pumping heavy and extra-heavy oil under challenging conditions such as high temperatures and sand content. The heavy oil pump successfully addresses the challenges of extra-heavy oil recovery.
